| Comments: |
trail was hard packed all the way. an impressive amount of postholes to the a-z junction. butt luged, hard packed and pock marked with frozen boot tracks on the steeps up to the spur. purchase with my worn snowshoes wasn't great and i used hillsound spikes to descend this section. good packed trail on the spur to the summit. lower portions of the trail were getting sticky on top during the hike out.
despite hiking the willey range numerous times in past winters i could find no record of having taken the spur to avalon so this seemed like a good day to do so. views were fantastic. |
