Comments
Comments: What a beautiful day for my last winter summit of 2019! My snow shoes enjoyed a ride today - all day from trailhead to summit - as I spiked it all the way without a single posthole. Of course, we all have to make our own call here - but this 130 pound hiker found spikes the perfect tool today - all day! I saw 4 others in spikes and 1 other in snow shoes. The trail was lovely and carter dome in winter is SO much more lovely than any other season! The approach from CDT was SO beautiful this morning! At the summit, I saw two other hikers and two hungry gray jays who were very eager to share some snacks. The gray jay perched in the hand of one of the hikers despite there being no reward for him! It's always a treat to be visited by these hungry, begging birds! The skies were so clear today - we could see ALL of the mountains today!
