Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked at Ferncroft parking lot where kiosk is. Ferncroft Road and Ferncroft parking lot road very ice-rutted. Low-clearance vehicles may bottom out if the route is not carefully steered. Plenty of parking space available.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All crossings are open or snow bridged. Open crossings have low water levels and are easily crossed as hop-overs or by walking on submerged or exposed rocks. The largest open crossing (East branch of Wonalancet River) is best crossed with MICROspikes (gaiters helpful if you make a mis-step into deeper water).
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Looks like some brushing recently done. Still needs more brushing at upper elevations. A couple leaners need cutting/removal. Many of the blazes still visible in this Wilderness Area where blazes are being allowed to fade away.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Shouldn't be any problem for dogs.
Bugs
Bugs: Snow fleas
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: None

Comments: Clear with temp in 20s/30s.
Did out and back to Passaconaway summit by Dicey's Mill Trail.Recent new snow increases with elevation, 6" to 12" at higher elevation.
Dicey's Mill is now packed out, but snowshoes should be sued at higher elevations.
Initial portion on the Dicey's mill route from parking lot is ice covered. The gate on the walking route near the trailhead is not in place.
Rollins Trail between Whiteface and Passaconaway was broken out today after the last snow storm.
Paved Roads on the way to Wonalancet (Ferncroft) are heavily frost heaved.
Started out using Kahtoola MICROspikes for the firm portion of trail that had no evidence of recent snowfall. Switched to snowshoes after crossing Wonalancet River.
Some postholes on portions of trail, but easily avoided if you you watch your feet placement and stay on monorail.
Overall, a relatively easy, straightforward climb.
Didn't see any wildlife or Moose droppings.
