Comments
Comments: Overall, a great hike. No one else out on the trial today. Slight drizzle in the morning gave way to mostly cloudy skies. We used snowshoes the whole way due to warming temps and the morning drizzle. Trail was well packed out, but getting mushy on top layer. All water crossings (including the major crossing across Downes Brook) were easy to navigate. The steeper sections of the trail were getting slippery with the warming temps, including the last push to the summit. Some blowdowns, but easy to duck under. Parking lot was plowed, but icy at the entrance (plenty of dirt on the rest of the road/parking lot). Nice views at the summit, even on a cloudy day!
