Comments
Comments: Well we started up polecat around 8am on the nicely groomed trail. We made it in decent time up to the top of the chairlift. We had known Greenleaf had been through a few days before and headed up to D. The platform was a walk straight on! I have never seen so much snow that the stairs were completely under them. We then headed over. The pack was so so. You could tell that there was 1 to maybe 2 peoples snowshoe track so there was still a little breaking trail. When you went into sun spots you could tell the change in snow pack. We were getting lots of trees to the face and lower as the snow pack was making a lot of views happen that I have never seen before. We got to A and hit the highpoint in the woods. We headed down and could tell there was more traffic heading down towards the hut. There were some fresh tracks from the day before but in some areas it was hard to find the trail. The well packed out trail was a bushwhack at some point as I had looked at my gps and it was off. The two slide sections were so so but had some trees sticking out that helped with crossing and not worrying that you would fall to your death or anything. Once on nineteen mile brook trail it was a highway. I probably could have been in my bareboots but I kept my snowshoes on with all the barebooters with that idea (my ankles would have rolled multiple times).Another two down for March.
