Comments
Comments: Trail to Pine Mountain pasture view area is fine with only light traction needed and some areas bare. Nice views across Winnipesaukee and into the southern White Mountains and Belknaps from the pasture view, If going off trail to the summit of Pine Mountain then snowshoes are not out of the question as the snow is getting soft and still has depth. Went to summit (not on trail) and then bushwhacked to Avery Hill Rd through the woods and road walked back to Mike Burke lot. From the lot a counter-clockwise start to the Mike Burke Trail and then as the loop starts back down (by a rock wall) a bushwhack up to Avery Hill. Again the snow gets soft an deep off-trail so snowshoes not out of question. Go over the top of Avery Hill and there is a nice view on a ledgy outlook that stretches from the Belknaps to the Monadnocks across Hills Pond and Sunset Lake.
