Comments
Comments: To no one’s surprise, a total mixed bag of trail conditions.

Barebooted Parker and Lost Farm to just below junction with Cliff Walk (~2300’). Spikes then on and off up Cliff Walk, Smith Connecting, and White Cross until the last push up to the summit. Mostly bareboots down Pumpelly to Red Spot. Kept spikes on all the way down Red Spot. Finally took them off for good on Cascade Link.

There is some serious ice on Smith Connecting and Red Spot. It’s soft, so nothing more than spikes are needed. Lower part of Cascade Link and White Dot is a muddy mess.

Lots of under-prepared people out there today, but sadly, not unexpected on that mountain at this time of year. I’m sure some of them had some fun trying to navigate the icy spots.
