| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The lot was full and cars were parked roadside on NH route 11, but the parking situation wasn't as bad when I hiked it due to a 3:00 PM start. I would imagine it was pretty gnarly earlier today, though. |

|
|
| Bugs: |
Saw a few buzzing about along the Boulder Loop Trail, but none were biting (yet). |
|
| Lost and Found: |
One of the big rocks at the start of the Mt. Major Trail had an assortment of lost/left behind items, such as microspikes, gloves, and hats. If you lost something here today, there's a good chance it's on that rock. |

| Comments: |
The Mt. Major Trail was a mix of bare ground and soft ice up to the Brook Trail junction; after that, the trail was mostly ice, with a few areas of bare ground. The summit was mostly snow and ice free. The Boulder Loop Trail was probably about 60% free of snow and ice, with most of the stuff lingering along the bottom half of the trail. I wore light traction on all the icy areas and had zero issues, but the overwhelming majority of people I saw had no traction at all; several people had some serious difficulty getting up and down some of the icy areas. Amazingly, I didn't see anyone take a spill. |
