| Comments: |
Wore spikes in the a.m. on the way in, when the temps were cool enough to keep the monorail solid, up to til about 1.5 miles in where multiple streams cross and whatever monorail there was has deteriorated into a minefield of soft snow and postholes. Snowshoes from there to the summit and then all the way back out as warmer temps made the snow significantly softer everywhere in the afternoon. Hiked in a t-shirt most of the way. Still wintery conditions at the summit so bring warm stuff to throw on at and after the hut.
4-10 inches of snow today (Monday 4/8) may very well have altered conditions, probably not for the better :-( |
