Priscilla Brook tr., has long been discontinued but there were some signs of trail-maintenance. |

Lucy did superbly and was able to run pretty much anywhere on the ascent; less so later in the day. Larger dogs will have a tortuous time in the softening conditions. |

We were able to follow tracks all the way to the summit - so, navigation was easy. The abandoned Priscilla Brook tr. is a fine corridor with some lower sections being a bit overgrown. Very nice open woods all the way to the summit - a very easy and delightful bushwhack. Some blowdowns around but we seemed to walk over most of them.
Snowshoes door to door. Infrequent postholing on the ascent but things got softer fast and we were postholing almost constantly - in snowshoes - on the descent. The last 1/2 mile out was pure "mashed potatoes". Several sections of mud/water on the lower part.
Plenty of moose activity everywhere - lots of dung-piles - especially around the summit.
The note-pad at the summit canister was soaked. We replaced the plastic bags and added a new note-book, pencils and a sharpener. We left the old note-pad (it is still functional/readable) - hoping someone will be able to dry it out during the summer months. |
