| Comments: |
Very narrow monorail with significant deep postholing pretty up to the tree line. Durand Ridge up to the summit is bare rock with a few significant patches of ice, so crampons are required - not quite enough purchase on the ice with light traction. Made it to the top of Adams despite rain and at times heavy wind, luckily visibility was OK enough to see/find the multiple cairns easily. Descent on wet rock/ice patches was challenging, and the rest of the Airline trail remained relatively challenging because of wet/soft/slippery snow (especially in the middle steep section) and the aforementioned very narrow monorail/very deep postholes. |
