| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I drove Bayle Mountain Road to the north end of Connor Pond, near where a road heads north towards the peak. The spur road ended up being a driveway, so I bushwhacked most of the way up. |

Oak Mountain in Ossipee.
I started out on the road headed up the north slope of the peak and then quickly turned off, heading up in open woods. I soon crossed a trail, which I believe leaves from the backyard of the camp. This trail took me to a very nice viewpoint close to the summit. From there I bushwhacked a short distance to the highpoint, which is recognized.
There was some substantial snow at the start, but the higher slope and summit were bare and dry.
This hike finished a long-term casual goal to hike the 33 named summits in the Ossipee Mountains. |
