Comments
Comments: Nice hike to this New Hampshire 2000- Footer and New Hampshire 500 Highest peak. From our parking location rather than following Colable Mine Road we crossed it to cut a corner and started bushwhacking north trying to beat the incoming rain.

This brought us into some nice steep woods in the Gile State Forest. We skirted a bump to the east, dropped down and went west of a marsh area then picked up Colable Mine Road as it started down pouring. Once on this woods road we followed it north until we hit some steep stuff about 1850’ of elevation as it just faded out at the old mine site.

From here we continued bushwhacking in nice woods skirting a bump to the west, dropped down a bit whacking through boggy area, then started climbing at a moderate grade, then some steep grade skirting to the east of the summit to avoid some really steep area with rock outcrops. Soon thing went back to a moderate grade as we turned west hitting a few bumps to the recognized high point.

Drenched to the bone we bushwhack back to Colable Mine Road and followed it back to our truck camper for a hot shower and soup!
