The road leading to Mead Base had a few muddy spots that were full of deeeeeeeep tire tracks. Use caution if you're driving a 2WD vehicle and the muddy ruts are still around. |

| Comments: |
The Wentworth Trail was completely snow and ice free (albeit very wet with a lot of standing and running water) for the first mile or so, but after that, the trail had a lot of scattered patches of ice. Past the lookout over the Lakes Region, the spotty ice turned to monorail and spring snow, which pretty much continuously covered the trail from there to the summit (save for the summit and near-summit ledges, which were out in the open). Still about one to two feet of snow on most of the upper parts of the mountain. The monorail was stable for the most part, but don't expect that to be the case for much longer. For the time being, I'd still recommend bringing light traction- while this trail could probably be barebooted with care, the going is so much easier with the traction. |
