Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: I did the loop clockwise and talked to a few people about the crossing. I should have made a note who said what based on footwear. The water was high so i crossed way up steam and followed the water down on the opposite side of the trail. Maybe it was over kill but i stayed dry.

Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I had a 7 month old pup in tow—leashed, so i was pretty careful about the water crossing and ledges. I also thought going up most of the ledges would be easier so i did the loop clockwise. I met a handful of other nice dogs. They all seem to have much better traction on wet granite than we do.
Bugs
Bugs: None

Comments
Comments: As i said, i did the loop clockwise. Snow is minimal. I walked around almost all of it except going up Dickey—it was soft and 1-2 feet deep so it was fine. Some snow in the woods was iced up but it was easy to walk around. I carried spikes but never used them. Most others were using them at some point except the group that didn’t bring any and were in sneakers. The only ledge i had trouble with was going down Welch. After i slid twice i pretty much crab walked down that. Ledges were wet from rain. From the open ledge to the car there was a LOT of water on the trail. A few times I wondered if I was walking down a small stream. But I have really good boots and my feet stayed completely dry. The weather was pretty good. A few sprinkles mixed in with a few hints of sun. And about 60F. A very pleasant spring hike.
