Comments
Comments: Spikes from parking lot to end of groomed section of Livermore; snowshoes the rest of the way.

Ungroomed portion of Livermore was garbage--deep, unconsolidated spring snow with no monorail to speak of. The four of us had a hell of a time busting through, but we made it.

Scaur ridge is very wet at the bottom, but gets progressively better up to about 3,000', at which point the monorail becomes more stable and the going gets better.

Some bare sections along the ridge where it was scoured by wind. Where it isn't bare, there is 4-6' of snow with a narrow monorail.
