Comments
Comments: The Pumpelly Trail is now 100% free of snow and ice, so leave the spikes at home. The gradual lower part of the trail was mostly dry with some areas of wet trail and standing water. The steep middle section was very wet and muddy in places. Once on the ridge, particularly where the open ledges start, the trail only had a few notable wet areas and was otherwise bone dry.

I had never hiked the full distance of the Pumpelly Trail before today- the only part of it I had ever done was the upper 1.4 miles between the Cascade Link junction and the summit of Mt. Monadnock. I was pleasantly surprised by how rugged, scenic, and quiet it was, and I would gladly hike this trail again in the near future (maybe when it's warmer).
