Comments
Comments: First 3 miles of trail had no snow left, just wet with lots of snow melt. Easy to hike. Then came to snow where we could continue without them but microspikes made it much easier. Monorails slushy but still solid enough to hike on. There was one snowfield above treeline we had to cross and sunk in up to about a foot at times but still easily passable with spikes. It was difficult to find the cairn past this snowfield from the other side but we just walked ahead til we could see it, using gps to be sure we were headed the right way.
Weather was perfect and conditions great. Much better than expected!
