Comments
Comments: Great day despite the heavy water run off. Still a lot of light fresh snow, cratered monorail and rime ice at summit. Temps dropped enough above treeline to warrant extra layers, hats and thick gloves. The wind though not too heavy was still enough to chill my toes. We chose to not carry snowshoes and were fine. Microspikes used only on the way down. Tricky maneuvering the disintegrating monorail. Can’t imagine it will last too much longer, esp with the rain forecasted all next week. Very muddy at the bottom.
