Comments
Comments: Well I wanted to make sure I had time today so I went for Cannon. Thought it would open up like it was while driving in. That was not the case for at least me. At about 2400’ i put my spikes on which was about 18 minutes in for me. I could have put them on a few minutes before but was hoping it would go back and forth. The monorail was pretty hard and in pretty good shape still. I wore spikes all the way to the summit. Once past the old man site, there is a quite wet section maybe 8’ long and about 6” deep or so(so good luck). Once out in the open, no more snow (took spikes off for the open parts) got to thr viewless stummit for thr day and had it to myself. Only saw 3 people pass me going down when I was heading up. I decided to bypass the water and follow the ski trail down. It was like walking on a sponge but I mostly kept on the snow.
Took the glades trail and should have swapped there on my snowshoes but I didn’t and popped back on the trail. I carried snowshoes so i put them on (didn’t have to think about ankle rolls with them) and went all the way on the monorail to past myself putting spikes on. Only passed 3 people heading up when I headed down. Carried my traction out once it became dirt and leaves and was back to the car! Cannon for May ✔️
