Comments
Comments: From our parking location with snowshoes strapped on we started bushwhacking south in nice woods at moderate heading for Blue Mountain – Northeast Peak northeastern running ridge. After a half mile or so we hit the ridge turning us southwest. We followed this ridge line for just over a mile or so at moderate grade with some steep sections, some nice woods and some thicker woods to the recognized high point of Blue Mountain – Northeast Peak.

After signing in we set off dropping west, then turning northwest heading towards the col and small pond on our way to Blue Mountain – Northwest Peak. Once past the col we keep moving northeast climbing some really steep area avoiding ledge and soon leveling off. At this point we started see a lot tighter spruce with deep snow that slowed us down enough for Mary to find part of a moose antler she basically stepped on. This snow area didn’t last too long as we hit each bump along the way and soon hit the recognized high point of Blue Mountain – Northwest Peak.

After signing in we dropped off the summit northeast with a few hundred yards of snow patches in nice woods, then we turned north still in nice woods and picked up and old over grown woods that made moving along a little faster. We followed for just ¾ of a mile or so and then jumped of and started bushwhacking east in nice woods, crossed a larger steam on an old log, popped out on the Kancamagus highway with a short walk back to the car to complete the loop.

Another great bushwhack adventure with my beautiful bride clocking in just under 6 miles and 1900 feet of elevation gain +/-
