| Comments: |
Grand Loop - Up Woodland / Clark to Vistamont. Summit of Orange Mtn. Skyland for out / back to Crane Mtn, then over to Rimrock / South Peak. Finally up Cardigan and then down to Firescrew. Lunch at Crag Shelter before hitting Elwell and descending to Back 80 trail. Snow still present in areas, but avoidable. Mud and water on trails (Back 80 especially). Slabs / Ledges wet today from past rains so some caution on those. Summits overall in clouds when was passing through, but still pretty as the clouds give an eerie appearance to the upper areas. Only a handful of people seen. One campfire area found approaching Orange Mtn that was right on trail edge, this was dispersed. Fair amount of trash at Crag Shelter and packed out what could fit in 2 gallon ziplocks. Use caution following Back 80 as blazes are fading in areas, but re-routes have flagging on them. |
