Parking/Access Road Notes: Road is still closed - parked in lot off off 302 and walked to trailhead.

Surface Conditions: Wet Trail, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Stable), Snow/Ice - Monorail (Unstable), Snow/Ice - Postholes

Recommended Equipment: Light Traction 
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The first crossing at .8 miles was tricky. Several of us had our feet submerged to our ankles. Tricky but doable. The second one at 1.3 miles was easier. Water was rushing fast though - use caution.

Trail Maintenance Notes: I think there was one blow down - easy to get over.

Dog-Related Notes: Didn't see any dogs but it would have been fine for them.

Comments: A great day up Hale. Parts of the monorail are starting to become unstable. We fell through more than once. We carried snowshoes but they wouldn't have helped on the narrow path. Spikes were helpful on the sloping section.
