Comments
Comments: Made the loop to Pond of Safety via Underhill and Four Soldiers trails accessed from Randolph Hill road via Pasture path. There are patches of rotten snow along Crescent Ridge, occasional postholes. The initial stretch of Underhill Trail off Crescent Ridge is mostly snow covered. Once its heading down hill the snow cuts off rapidly. We had a tough time trail finding most of the day expect for pasture path. The trail bed along crescent ridge is hard to follow due to patches of snow an sparse blazing. The Underhill and Four Soliders has a very minimal trail bed due to lack of use, blazing meets trails standards but is spread out quite a bit. We did a fair share of stopping all day trying to guess which way to go, it usually took some roaming or educated guesses before we caught sight of a blaze. We had snowshoes and I tried them on the upper Underhill trail but expect most would just bareboot it.

By the way the signed "The Eye of the Needle" no longer has view in the direction of the Eye of the Needle which we presume is the summit of Washington through Edmunds Col. There is an excellent view ledge on a spur a short distance away and the top of the radio mast on Mt Washington is visible.
