Comments
Comments: Up Jackson via bare boot until about 2850' and then microspikes to treeline. 2850'+ was firm monorail in the morning. Snowshoes to Pierce as it was softening up, and the trail is lightly used in winter and required care to follow through the tangled mess of blowdowns. Pierce to Eisehower was no problem to follow, snowshoes helpful, although the monorail was pretty hard packed. Down via Crawford Path in snowshoes again to about 2850'or so and bare booted the remainder, mostly side stepping short stretches of monorail. Still a lot of snow - if cold enough, can probably get away with bare boots or spikes. Warm/sunny afternoons would recommend snowshoes.

Helicopter day - lots of trips to bring supplies to the trail and the huts. Mizpah hutmaster warned that travel was challenging.
