Comments
Comments: Smarts brook trail is one of my favorite! We saw no one on the trail. Beautiful waterfalls all the way up, At 2800 feet we encountered a short stretch of snow, not an issue and easily bare booted. The entire trail we hiked in bare boots. At the junction of Sandwich Mountain trail the monorail became deep, soft and unstable with thigh high postholing, this section which was .6 miles to the summit could be done with spikes or bare boot , we opted to put snowshoes on as it was much easier then postholing and we packed down the trail, I switched to spikes for the descent and found a narrow stable line of monorail. Beautiful spring day , we saw a ton of Moose poop and some scat, I am sure I heard a moose! Thanks JS for another awesome adventure!!!
