| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
At the Blue Job State Forest trailhead on First Crown Point Road in Strafford. The lot was about half full when I set out, but was overflowing when I got back. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
None. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The relocation of Fire Tower Loop is nice and fresh, but with many small tripping hazards from tree stubs. Formally-named Little Blue Job Trail is not marked (yet?) but does have some flagging in spots. It's still fairly eroded in its upper section. No blowdowns anywhere. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Sure. |
| Bugs: |
They were out, but not too annoying due to cooler temps. |
| Lost and Found: |
Nothing. |

| Comments: |
This was a pre-emptive walk for the SNHG, as it appears that the unofficial trail to Little Blue Job may become official. I'm still waiting on confirmation on that from the state. Anyway, a new sign at the trailhead now directs hikers to it by name, and the loop trail to the fire tower on the main peak has been renamed once again, this time to Fire Tower Loop (it was known as Tower Loop last fall when the relocation was built).
Mostly dry trail, although LBJT has its usual share of mud. Excellent views from the completely bare summit of LBJ, one of the gems of southern New Hampshire. I timed it right, as I had the summit to myself for a while before others arrived. |
