Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The one major crossing was uncrossable without getting wet boots as all the rocks were covered. We used trash bags on our feet/legs and ford the river with poles.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: To many blow downs to count. All can be stepped over or around. Also, there is a lot of trees still bent over in the trail at 3000' and up. Making it tough to get around.

Comments
Comments: Trail started off good and dry. At about 3 miles in the stream had taken over the trailer quite a ways. Had to hike trough the trees. Water crossing was very tough. We had to ford the river with trash bags on our legs and used poles to keep dry.

The unstable monorail starts at about 3000' and snow shoes are a must. The monorail was 3-4' tall at times and only one snowshoe wide if not pointy making for very difficult travel. Add in the Spruce trees bent over in the trail, its a real treat. There are many post holes from a hiker yesterday. Most holes are 3'-4' deep some deeper. Making it very important to stay on the rail. So as you can guess, its tough going at the higher elevation so be prepared!!!

We didn't see anyone all day till we ran into someone about 3pm near Sawyer River Road heading up without snow shoes. Always an adventure
