The road was closed though in good shape. The trail was a mix of streams in the trail and dry leaves. The snow started at 2200. I left the snowshoes in the car. From 2800 to 3600 I though it would’ve been good to have them. After 3600 the trail was firm and a narrow monorail that would make snowshoeing more challenging that micros . I m happy I left the snowshoes in the car. We made it to the tower at 5:45 and took photos. Time for second lunch and a tropical smoothie. The way down thru the soft though firm snow was easier than I thought it would be. Sliding and slow sinking as compared to rotten snow where u just sink ASAP like on Pine Bend on N tripyramid the day before. |
