Comments
Comments: Barebooted up to the steep section on the Welsh rockface when I put on my crampons. I kept them on until I returned back into the woods after the large outcropping. MicroSpikes may have sufficed but I could not find them at home. Spring snow in the lower elevations, loose granular up high. Breakable crust in woods. Upper ledges were fairly well blown in with snow. Some blue ice lurking, but nothing bad. Pretty smooth sailing for this trail. Two icy areas on the steep section after the first ledge and the other after Dickey Mountain...but one can bushwhack around them if uncomfortable. Monorail starting to lurk.
