Comments
Comments: There were two vastly different seasons today:

It was summertime below 3800'. I hiked in a t-shirt and the trail was still slightly damp from last night's rain, and parts of it were already dry. All rivers were easy, and where there was mud it was avoidable. There was no snow at all until about 3800'. From here, the monorail started as avoidable patches and eventually became solid. The good thing about today was that it was stable in the morning for the whole ascent. No postholing, and it was easy to stay on it. Once at the treeline on Bondcliff the snow disappeared and there was just a few inches in spots from the overnight. While there was no ice to speak of, the ridge and climb to Mt. Bond felt like winter, being socked in, chilly, and with a fully frozen monorail (which is good because you can glide right on top of it). Decided to skip West Bond today and turn around from here. The day was warming on the descent from Boncliff, and everything was melting. The snow was a little softer going down but still not that bad at all. Just wear gaiters and you'll be fine. After all it is mid May, I can't imagine this lingering too much longer.
