Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Long Pond Road is still closed due to washout and it looks like it will be closed for some time due to maintenance on the road even though it’s easiky passable. The road into the western trailhead is bumpy and has lots of potholes. I’d go slow in a low clearance vehicle to try and avoid them and not scrap your undercarriage. Not a whole lot of room to park at either trailhead but luckily these trailheads aren’t busy.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None that I recall on the eastern side. A few on the western side. All rock hops and not an issue.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Several easy stepovers mostly on the western side. The trail is blazed in yellow although the blaze is quite sparse on the western side. The footbed is obvious making the trail easy to follow. The only confusing section is with all the logging roads on the western side where I recommend you have the trail description with you.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I imagine they’d be fine.
Bugs
Bugs: The black flies were swarming once we stopped when in the woods. I recommend spray and a head net.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a rusty old key on Long Pond Road.

Comments
Comments: Traverse over Blueberry Mtn today from Long Pond Road to the western terminus. More sun than predicted led to a really wonderful day out :)

The water crossings weren’t problematic and although there were blowdowns, they were easy to get over. I found the trail easy to follow although you have to know what you’re doing towards the western end with all the logging roads. We doubted ourselves a few times. Blaze is sparse on western end but the trail was still obvious.

There’s still some spots with lots of mud and standing/running water on the trail. The ledges coming down from the top headed west were slippery and wet.
