Comments
Comments: It is pretty muddy in the lower half of the slopes, some places it is unavoidable to get wet so I would bring some gators. There is a monorail that starts at around 3,400ft and it is fairly manageable up until the last push to the summit of Starr King. From there, the ridge between Starr King and Waumbek was fairly atrocious, particularly on the last quarter mile push to the summit of Waumbek (very weak snow where you can posthole up to your knees). Microspikes became especially helpful in the sections of the monorail that were wet and icy.
