| Comments: |
The trail below the Cabot trail is snow free, with muddy/boggy patches that can mostly be easily skirted. On the Cabot trail there is a bit of snow/ice in small stretches. Microspikes are helpful but not needed. There is enough of a snow-free side trail to manage almost all of the patches. There are very few blazes but, for the most part, the trail is "baked in" so easily identified. The exception is above the cabin towards the summit- lots of muddy and snowy foot prints, but not always on trail. There were close to 20 people on trail today, so the fresher tracks might be more on trail, and the drier stretches are easy to follow. I knew there was a cabin on trail, but didn't realize that there is an outhouse/toilet too- nice! |
