| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The dirt road in is in good shape. A small pull off on the left. Only car when we arrived and left although there was one other man on the trail that passed us going both directions. Not a lot of room for more than 2-3 cars but luckily it’s not a heavily used trail (except for thru-hikers!). |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
The one right past the Hexacuba Shelter Spur is sketchy in my opinion as you cross two logs about 8-10ft above a narrow stream. Things would not go well if you well off those logs... my recommendation (particularly if you’re alone) would be to just scramble down some rocks to the stream and cross it which shouldn’t be difficult so long as we haven’t had a lot of recent water. That said, everyone in our group just went across the logs. Again, if you fell though...
The one larger crossing on Kodak Trail was doable as a rock hop but invoked a fairly long step for those with shorter legs. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The Kodak Trail is blazed in white for the AT. It is well blazed and easy to follow. The trail is in pretty good shape. I threw a lot of small debris off the trail. I’m sure there were some blowdowns and all but nothing significant that I can recall. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Didn’t see any but I think they’d do fine. |
|
| Bugs: |
They were out. Mostly black flies. They bit. I found it bareable though. I’d recommend bug spray and/or a big net if you’re easily annoyed by them. |

My mom’s 60th birthday hike! Such a lovely day to be out. The trail started off very dry to my surprise but by the end of the day we’d seen our fair share of water and mud pits. The trail is in decent condition and easy to follow. See comments above about water crossings. The Hexacuba Shelter area was cool. Views of Smarts Mtn along the way (the ledges 1.1mi from the parking area and 0.6m up the trail is a worthy destination within itself) with Mousley and Stonehouse right next to it. I didn’t identify much from the top without a map or Gaia on my phone today but you definitely had views towards Cardigan, Kearsage, and Dartmouth skyway with Moose Mtn behind it in addition to Smarts Mtn and nearby peaks. Everything else I just called “Vermont†😂 |
