Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a few. The owner of one said " she's friendly " as she charged at and growled at my wife. Im' a 100% dog lover but.....come on man. Leash the dog if it is not social around people
Bugs
Bugs: Black flys are out. Bug spray a good idea as well as long pants and long sleeve shirt. Breezes on the summit(s) kept them mostly at bay.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: A fun, early season snow free hike. We started out early ( 0730h ) and only saw a few people until we hit Welch. The trail was snow free with the usual spots of running water on the slabs and ledges. The combo of lichen and water can make it quite slippery if not paying attention. Views from Welch were awesome and views from Dickey were even better. I love all the Jack pine trees near and on Welch. They are so cool looking and Welch / Dickey is one of the only places in N.H. to see them. Great day to be out. The early start and finish beat hiking in the crowds and the heat.
