Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked a car at Cotton trailhead which is buggy and big enough for a handful of cars. Parked the other car at Mead Base Station which was also buggy, but bigger. Nifty place too!

Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail in good shape. A couple blowdowns that aren't hard to get around, under, or over.

Dog-Related Notes: Met 3 very happy dogs! 
Bugs
Bugs: LORDY YES!!! The mosquitos are out in force if you stop anywhere off the ridge. Not too many blackflies. Definitely check for ticks every time you stop!

Comments: Amazing day on the Squam traverse! 13 miles that aren't as easy as you'd think. Started at Cotton and went over to Doublehead. The second half is much more rocky and muddy. Be very careful if you're wearing trail runners. My Altras are great on dry land, but I took a nice spill on Percival where it was super slick. The mosquitos were killer coming down to Sandwich Notch rd and back to the car. Bugnet or spray or both...possibly a flame thrower...
