| Water Crossing Notes: |
We took the Black Pond Bushwhack-the last I had checked the levels were running at 600-700 cf/s so some of the rocks were submerged. The crossings still weren't difficult it just took a little time to find the best place to cross to with the least amount of depth. On the return we just waded across mostly and used what rocks were visible. |

Pretty steady, easy hike. Started around 5:15am. Obviously being spring there are plenty of wet/mud areas. The bushwhack in we had to stand still a couple times because we were off the herd path but knowing the general direction (being with Buffalo Girl who is a Grid finisher and my 4th time on this bushwhack) it isn't too hard to follow through to Lincoln Brook Trail (I did pull out GPS a couple times to just avoid unnecessary elevation changes). We went up the slide-beautiful day/weather/breeze. No visible snow until close to summit but we didn't put spikes on-it was solid enough to walk on it and/or avoid. We took Brutus down, which I find is a nice/gentle way to descend compared to the slide. No issues on the way out. Back to the lot around 12:30. |
