| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking lot was empty when I arrived, full when we left (not a big parking lot) |
| Surface Conditions: |
Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Significant, Snow/Ice - Small Patches |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Rock hopped a little farther upstream from the trail; on the way back we pretty much just walked through since it was close to the parking lot. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
One significant blowdown between the knobs - required either ducking under or climbing over (one of my companions climbed over and the rest of us went under). |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Dog friendly trail. We saw 5 total - 3 leashed, 2 unleashed, all friendly and well behaved with courteous humans. |
| Bugs: |
None at the summit, mostly just in the lower half of elevation - I wore a bug net over my hat and had on a long-sleeved shirt and long running leggings, so no bites (that's a first for me on a June hike). |

We took Mt. Tecumseh trail from the northwest end - Tripoli Road. This is a nice hike through beautiful forest. Since it was a cloudy day with rain in the forecast and we took the less-traveled trail with a 7 AM start, we didn't run into a lot of people. Mostly just on the way down we encountered several small groups on their way up. No view today since the summit was in the clouds. We mostly avoided the rain. There was a brief drizzle on the ascent, and a breeze blowing raindrops off the trees occasionally. |
