| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
No issues with parking. People worry about the gate closing, but it was still open when we left at 6:15. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Significant |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
On the Unknown Pond Trail, there are several small water crossings. Though none of them were major, they required a little scanning for the best route, and there were a few places where we had to bushwhack around large areas of water on the trail. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Lots of blowdowns, but all easy to go around, over or under. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Several dogs on the hike today, most well behaved and having a good time. |
| Bugs: |
It was very buggy at the summit of Mt. Cabot and later in the day, the Unknown Pond trail was quite buggy. |
| Lost and Found: |
I lost a red Black Diamond trekking pole, probably somewhere below the Cabot summit on the Unknown Pond Trail. |

| Comments: |
It was a great day overall, beautiful streams, wildflowers and great views on Mt. Horn in spite of the clouds. Lots of moose droppings on the Unknown Pond trail, though no wildlife sitings. |
