Comments
Comments: Started hiking at 6:45. Was overcast all morning but cool and breezy, perfect hiking weather. Great trail conditions, with some mud and just a few small patches of avoidable snow near the Hut. Saw some huge moose hoof prints. Met two parties who were coming down from the Hut. Surprisingly both had done 20 miles of the Pemi Loop the day before and were "escaping" out the Gale River trail due to sore legs. One said it was their first hike of the season (!). No views (other than fog) at the lookout before Galehead summit. Great brownies at the Hut. Got back to the parking lot at 1. Overall, an excellent day on really nice trails.
