Trails
Trails: Mt. Osceola Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Saturday, June 8, 2019
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: With a 10:40 arrival I had planned on and did park along road about 800' down from lot. New bathrooms (looked similar to those at Livermore from outside) and other work done to lot since my last time on this side. East end of Tripoli Road to Waterville Valley much rougher than west end; which was in fairly nice shape.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Significant
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All small and fairly easy. Rock/branch steps on the many muddy spots on either side of Osceola.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: 4-5 leaners between peaks which can be stepped around or ducked under. Thank you Rolling Rock & crew for all the noticeable work done a week ago from Tripoli to Osceola.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Many out today; plentiful water ops today.
Bugs
Bugs: Black flies throughout and mosquitoes when I stopped near one of lower brook crossings. Bug spray kept things sane.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Pair of Black Diamond poles on Osceola at 4:00 possibly forgotten. Left them there as there were still hikers at summit or possibly stashed by hikers going to East peak.

Comments
Comments: Gorgeous day. Killer views and lots of hikers out enjoying day. Not much new. Rocky lower section, angled ledge slabs which had traction even when wet, some mud and water to pick a path through, Chimney & bypass both dry and used by many, no snow seen.
