Never quit the trail on a rainy day. Wow, how true. My bull-headed self neglected to consider rain pants or gloves until I was good and frozen. Duh. Near the summit, of all places, I was seriously debating pulling the plug. It's a good thing I didn't, because I met some wonderful AT thru-hikers who totally made my day. Saw a moose and her calf, many waterfalls, and hiked on a trail that was cushioned by leaves and pine needles. Oh, and the moss everywhere softened every edge. No view from Imp Face, but plenty of other stuff to keep me occupied. And the second half of the day was much better once I warmed up. 10/10: will do again.
This one wasn't as photogenic as some of my other recent hikes, but there are still photos and a lengthier write-up on my blog. |
