Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We were car #5 at Alton mountain road parking area, there were more parked at a secondary spot when we returned. A trail steward was building a new kiosk at the trail head. Looks like a map is on its way. Nice work!
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None of consequence
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: These trails are in great shape, thank you to all those who maintain the Belknap range. Old Stage road has a section of water flowing across it thanks to beaver activity from the looks of all the chewed trees.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Only saw one happy pooch
Bugs
Bugs: Not bad, used some bond cliff bug spray for mosquitoes mainly, no need to wear the head nets. Did see one large tick crawling on my pants that I flicked off. Lots of dragon flies finally, I think they were helping decrease the black fly population along with the nice breeze.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing, nice to see no trash.

Comments
Comments: Great day for redlining and a few more peaks . Perfect hiking weather in the morning and done by 2pm to get home and get things done. Only saw about 10 people all day. These trails are great for seclusion. Lots of blueberries on their way.
