| Comments: |
I walked this loop to document the current state of Shannon Brook Trail, the upper 0.3 mi. of which has been permanently closed by LRCT due to repeated flooding from Shannon Pond Dam, which in turn has washed away the trail. To continue to Shannon Pond, hop on the Connector Trail and then Turtleback Mountain Trail. The detour is well-signed. The upper connection between Brook Walk and Shannon Pond Trail is also closed for the same reason.
SPT isn't too exciting, but it gets you there. I hadn't been on BW for a while so it was good to revisit all the waterfalls again, which were flowing nicely. All trails were dry with just bits of mud here and there. |
