Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Everywhere except the road portions of EPST needs brushing. It's clear these trails are lesser-used. Several blowdowns along BMST between the cabin and summit. I looked down BMST from the cabin and it's pretty brushy.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sure, but watch for ticks as a lot of this route is grassy.
Bugs
Bugs: Plenty of mosquitoes and black flies to last a lifetime. I also found two ticks on me during the drive home.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: A counter-clockwise loop up and over the more remote side of the mountain. Trails are mainly dry except for several wet and muddy areas on the EPST after it leaves the Class VI extension of Black Mountain Road (this turn could also use some markings or a sign).

The views are the same as they have been for years - not very open, but still peeks through the trees. South Baldface was looking rally good today. The best view IMO is from the east pasture itself, which provides a great look over to the Doubleheads. The cows were in the pasture today and were curious about me.

I saw no one else on this loop, but appropriately enough, a LARGE bear crossed the road in front of me as I was heading home via Bear Notch Road. Cool.
