Parking/Access Road Notes: Nice sized parking lot on sawyer river road.

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant

Water Crossing Notes: One. Rock hopped, no issues. 
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Some minor blowdowns on the trail but easy to get around.  
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: A few dogs enjoying the trail. 
Bugs
Bugs: Yes! Clouds and clouds on mosquitoes, horse flies, and black flies. Invest in some deet - natural stuff doesn't seem to work. Reapply every so often. I still got bit up despite following the above.

Comments
Comments: Lots of bugs, a few fellow hikers, a few dogs. Beautiful trail, especially the first few miles. Slog up after about 3 miles in. Views from the ridge are incredible. Happy hiking!
