Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: one minor crossing on Beaver Pond Trail
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: East side of Bog Mtn Trail very brushy - prickers are just starting to get bothersome in the logging cuts - I got a bit scratched up but it could have been anywhere. Very brushy on Beaver Pond Trail and Patterson Farm Trail where the trails share logging/skidder roads. A couple large blowdowns on Bog Mtn Trail - east side - establishing herd paths around them. One blaze missing on Pinnacle Rd - it's on the back side of the large pine tree where the road forks. One downed blaze log near the unnamed pond loop.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: why not?
Bugs
Bugs: I used DEET - bugs were not as bad as I expected. Smacked a few horseflies and swatted a few mosquitoes. The ticks were mostly in the logging cuts on the Patterson Farm Trail - I actively picked them off as I went. A few had attached but not too bad. Once home, I picked another 3 off. I will probably find a few more. Not a tick infestation, but, you just have to keep checking. No biggie.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: nothing of note

Comments
Comments: Nice hot day for this trek. Got completely sweat-drenched in a matter of minutes - cool breeze felt good. Went up Bog Mtn and over down to Stearns Rd, then back and then to Beaver Pond Trail and Patterson Farm Trail as far as Eagle Pond Road and just touched it, then returned to the car. A shade under 11 miles total. Not a lot of water available and I just barely carried enough. Beautiful forest views and old farms/cellar holes to explore plus a few cool relics here and there!
