Comments
Comments: I was intimidated to do the North/South slide loop so decided to do the "back" door trail to bag the Tripyramids. It is a moderate/hard trail (mostly easy bits with a few more challenging climbs). It has a slow ascent in the beginning, followed by two steady ascents with a level patch in the middle. Very doable. Nothing like the accounts of doing the slides. Views from North Tripyramid are non-existent. Views from Middle are limited due to trees. Muddy and boggy in bits. Bugs through out. LOTS of roots. Of all the hikes in the Whites this one wins the prize for the trail with the most roots- and they can be slick.
