Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Wow... where do i begin? Eagle Link trail-needs a lot of brushing as the trail is not even noticable unless you move the hobblebrush from the ground-the only way to see the foot bed. Very muddy and good luck keeping shoes dry and on your feet(need new bog bridges or a reroute it is very rough. Wild river trail-needs heavy brushing done and is very muddy between the brand new bog bridges. Lastly East Branch was the worst of them all-blazes would help since there really isn’t any footbed. The “bog area” is a swamp which my pole and not my foot went in 2’ deep and only my shoes about 6”. Needs brushing done and even after the “wilderness” sign-lots of blowdowns and blazes to keep on the drainage would have been helpful as everything is so open and vast out there. Oh and maybe a trailhead sign so you don’t continue down the abandoned part of the trail Is

Comments
Comments: Well the rain/thunderstorm possibility kept people away. I know we went into back trails but wow did we get some great views and undercast that most did not. We did not see anyone until coming off of north baldface. There was a group of 9 on a backpack that were heading to south baldface ledges.... hope they made it since it was on and off raining. Once on eagle link did it stop raining but we were soaked from the wet brush we had to push through. We are shocked we didn’t see a moose again! Great redlining day out!
